The Internet is one of the most disruptive technologies of our age – and no industry has been hit as hard as the music industry. With the Internet came new distribution channels and applications like youtube and iTunes that completely changed the way people consume music. But recent studies show that although global sales of CDs have gone down, the music industry is growing.

Even though the Internet has changed the way people consume music, it has also brought opportunities for players in the music industry to reach new markets, develop new products and reach a wider fan base.

The opportunities the Internet brings to the music industry apply to Kenyan musicians as well. The Tandaa Symposium on Music seeks to examine and reveal the various tools the Internet offers for the music industry in Kenya. Held at the Kenya Music Week 2010, the Tandaa Symposium will showcase local solutions and global applications that can help Kenyan musicians grow their fan base and distribute their music to a wider audience.

From reviewing different types of licensing models to getting hands on tips for youtube, the Symposium will offer artist in the music industry practical tools and tips that they can apply immediately to grow their business and creativity.

And… there will be music! The Symposium will feature live performances from Antoneosoul and others, do not miss this event.
